MG S2000 information

Postby BinoSantos » Thu Feb 18, 2010 5:11 pm

Hi guys!

My name is Bino and I'm a portuguese rallyfan! I'm also a "sim racer", and my team made the MG ZR S2000 for Richard Burns Rally. The car is complete, with two set's of tarmac rims, the extra-lights, and everything that make's the MG S2000 one of the beautty's of all time rally. But, there is one small problem. We cannot make the physics for this car, because we don't have any values for Lenght, Width or Wheelbase! I sent an e-mail to MSD, but they didn't reply me!

I read yout forum, and I know that you know a lot about the MG!

Could someone help us? We really want to drive the MG in our simulator!

Thanks in advance!

BTW, two pics of the car:

Hi BinoSantos, and welcome to the MG S2000 SPORT Forum.

I will have a look and see if I have the information that you want. Pleae wait a couple of days and I will see if I can find something over the weekend for you.

I am impressed by your work as it looks very high quality - well done. Are you planning to produce some other liveries for the MG or just the Roy White entry?

Hi David!

That's not my work, unfortunatly!!

The car was done for CMR2, and a guy from my team Ricardo Rodrigues converted it for RBR, and modelled new things, cause the model from CMR was really low poly!

I made the MGS2000 Sport skin, and Carlos Nuñez started the Stobart one, but I don't know if he finished it!

Cheers mate!

Hi BinoSantos, and sorry it has taken so long to find out the information you requested - I thought I'd have been able to find out the answer by now! :(

I have posted elsewhere on this forum of an Italian magazine that I recently obtained. Within the pages of the 10-page full-colour article there is a Technical Specification section in which it lists...

Lunghezza : 4010mm
Larghezza : 1800mm
Passo : 2500mm

Using Google's translation tools, 'Lunghezza' and 'Larghezza' are a direct translation for 'Length' and 'Width'. However, even though there is no direct translation listed for 'Passo', it does suggest the following words as a possible meaning...

step, pace, passage, pass, walk, footstep, stride, gait, rate, tread, excerpt, and footprint

...in my mind the 'Passo' dimension must therefore refer to the wheelbase, as that could quite easily relate to the suggested footstep, stride, and footprint words if nothing else. Based on that, I think we can quite realistically state...

Length : 4010mm
Width : 1800mm
Wheelbase : 2500mm

I hope that helps.
